পরিচ্ছেদঃ ২১৫: দাঁতন করার মাহাত্ম্য ও প্রকৃতিগত আচরণসমূহ
১০/১২১৩। আব্দুল্লাহ ইবনে উমার রাদিয়াল্লাহু আনহু হতে বর্ণিত, নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেন, “তোমরা গোঁফ কেটে ফেল এবং দাড়ি লম্বা কর।” (বুখারী, মুসলিম)[1]
(215) بَابُ فَضْلِ السِّوَاكِ وَخِصَالِ الْفِطْرَةِ
وَعَنِ ابنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنهُمَا، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، قَالَ: «أَحْفُوا الشَّوَارِبَ وَأَعْفُوا اللِّحَى». متفقٌ عَلَيْهِ
(215) Chapter: The Excellence of using Miswak (Tooth-Stick)
Ibn 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Trim the moustaches and let the beard grow."
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
Commentary: Ahfu means trim excessively. Thus, keeping of long moustaches will be against this injunction. The meanings of the word A`fu have been stated above, that is, leave the beard to follow its natural growth.
