পরিচ্ছেদঃ ২২০: নতুন চাঁদ দেখলে যা বলতে হয়
১/১২৩৬। ত্বালহা ইবনে উবাইদুল্লাহ রাদিয়াল্লাহু আনহু হতে বর্ণিত, নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম যখন নতুন চাঁদ দেখতেন তখন এই দো’আ পড়তেন,
“আল্লা-হুম্মা আহিল্লাহু আলাইনা বিল আমনি অলঈমা-নি অসসালা-মাতি অলইসলা-ম, রাববী অরাববুকাল্লা-হ, (হিলালু রুশদিন অখায়র)।”
অর্থ- হে আল্লাহ! তুমি ঐ চাঁদকে আমাদের উপর উদিত কর নিরাপত্তা, ঈমান, শান্তি ও ইসলামের সাথে। (হে চাঁদ) আমার ও তোমার প্রতিপালক আল্লাহ। (হেদায়েত ও কল্যাণময় চাঁদ!) (তিরমিযী-হাসান, কিন্তু বন্ধনী-ঘেরা শব্দগুলি তিরমিযীতে নেই।) [1]
(220) بَابُ مَا يُقَالُ عِنْدَ رُؤْيَةِ الْهِلَالِ
عَن طَلحَةَ بنِ عُبَيدِ اللهِ رضي الله عنه: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ إِذَا رَأَى الهلاَلَ، قَالَ: «اَللهم أَهِلَّهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالأَمْنِ وَالإيمانِ، وَالسَّلاَمَةِ وَالإسْلاَمِ، رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللهُ، هِلالُ رُشْدٍ وخَيْرٍ» . رواه الترمذي، وقال :حديث حسن
(220) Chapter: Supplication at the Sight of the Crescent (At the outset of Every Lunar Month)
Talhah bin Ubaidullah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
At the sight of the new moon (of the lunar month), the Prophet (ﷺ) used to supplicate: "Allahumma ahillahu 'alaina bil-amni wal-iman, was-salamati wal-Islam, Rabbi wa Rabbuk-Allah, Hilalu rushdin wa khairin (O Allah, let this moon appear on us with security and Iman; with safety and Islam. (O moon!) Your Rubb and mine is Allah. May this moon be bringing guidance and good)."

Commentary: After sighting the moon, one should recite the prayer which was recited by the Prophet (PBUH). The prayer cited in the text of this Hadith is one of them.
