পরিচ্ছেদঃ ২১৬: যাকাতের অপরিহার্যতা এবং তার ফযীলত
৬/১২১৯। আবূ আইয়ুব রাদিয়াল্লাহু আনহু হতে বর্ণিত, একটি লোক নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম-কে বলল, ’আমাকে এমন একটি আমল বলুন, যা আমাকে জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করাবে।’ তিনি বললেন, “আল্লাহর বন্দেগী করবে, আর তাঁর সাথে কোন কিছুকে অংশীদার স্থির করবে না। নামায কায়েম করবে, যাকাত দেবে এবং আত্মীয়তার বন্ধন অটুট রাখবে।” (বুখারী, মুসলিম) [1]
(216) بَابُ تَأْكِيْدِ وُجُوْبِ الزَّكَاةِ وَبَيَانِ فَضْلِهَا وَمَا يَتَعَلَّقُ بِهَا
وَعَن أَبي أيُّوبَ: أَنَّ رَجُلاً قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم: أَخْبِرْنِي بِعَمَلٍ يُدْخِلُنِي الجَنَّةَ، قَالَ: «تَعْبُدُ اللهَ، وَلاَ تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئاً، وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلاَةَ، وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ، وَتَصِلُ الرَّحِمَ» . متفقٌ عَلَيْهِ
(216) Chapter: The Excellence and Obligation of the Payment of Zakat
Abu Ayyub (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
A man said to the Prophet (ﷺ): "Direct me to a deed which may admit me to Jannah." Upon this he (the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)) said, "Worship Allah and never associate anything with Him in worship, establish Salat, pay Zakat, and strengthen the ties of kinship."

Commentary: This Hadith mentions the compassion for relatives along with the Salat and Saum which are obligatory in Islam. It indicates the importance of compassion for relation in Islam. The term `strengthen the ties of kinship' implies nice treatment of one's relatives regardless of circumstances, maintenance of contact with them and fulfillment of the requirements of relationship with them.
