পরিচ্ছেদঃ ৪১ : পিতা-মাতার অবাধ্যতা এবং আত্মীয়তার বন্ধন ছিন্ন করা হারাম
আল্লাহ তা’আলা বলেন,
﴿ فَهَلۡ عَسَيۡتُمۡ إِن تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ أَن تُفۡسِدُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوٓاْ أَرۡحَامَكُمۡ ٢٢ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فَأَصَمَّهُمۡ وَأَعۡمَىٰٓ أَبۡصَٰرَهُمۡ ٢٣ ﴾ [محمد: ٢٢، ٢٣]
অর্থাৎ “ক্ষমতায় অধিষ্ঠিত হলে সম্ভবতঃ তোমরা পৃথিবীতে বিপর্যয় সৃষ্টি করবে এবং তোমাদের আত্মীয়তার বন্ধন ছিন্ন করবে। ওরা তো তারা, যাদেরকে আল্লাহ অভিশপ্ত করে বধির ও দৃষ্টিশক্তিহীন করেন।” (সূরা মুহাম্মাদ ২২-২৩ আয়াত)
তিনি আরো বলেন,
﴿ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهۡدَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مِيثَٰقِهِۦ وَيَقۡطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفۡسِدُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُ ٱللَّعۡنَةُ وَلَهُمۡ سُوٓءُ ٱلدَّارِ ٢٥ ﴾ [الرعد: ٢٥]
অর্থাৎ “যারা আল্লাহর সাথে দৃঢ় অঙ্গীকারে আবদ্ধ হওয়ার পর তা ভঙ্গ করে, যে সম্পর্ক অক্ষুণ্ণ রাখতে আল্লাহ আদেশ করেছেন তা ছিন্ন করে এবং পৃথিবীতে অশান্তি সৃষ্টি করে বেড়ায়, তাদের জন্য আছে অভিসম্পাত এবং তাদের জন্য আছে মন্দ আবাস।” (সূরা রা’দ ২৫ আয়াত)
তিনি অন্যত্র বলেন,
﴿ ۞وَقَضَىٰ رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعۡبُدُوٓاْ إِلَّآ إِيَّاهُ وَبِٱلۡوَٰلِدَيۡنِ إِحۡسَٰنًاۚ إِمَّا يَبۡلُغَنَّ عِندَكَ ٱلۡكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَآ أَوۡ كِلَاهُمَا فَلَا تَقُل لَّهُمَآ أُفّٖ وَلَا تَنۡهَرۡهُمَا وَقُل لَّهُمَا قَوۡلٗا كَرِيمٗا ٢٣ وَٱخۡفِضۡ لَهُمَا جَنَاحَ ٱلذُّلِّ مِنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَةِ وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱرۡحَمۡهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرٗا ٢٤ ﴾ [الاسراء: ٢٣، ٢٤]
অর্থাৎ “তোমার প্রতিপালক নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন যে, তোমরা তিনি ছাড়া অন্য কারো উপাসনা করবে না এবং পিতা-মাতার প্রতি সদ্ব্যবহার করবে; তাদের এক জন অথবা উভয়েই তোমার জীবদ্দশায় বার্ধক্যে উপনীত হলে তাদেরকে বিরক্তিসূচক কিছু বলো না এবং তাদেরকে ভৎর্সনা করো না; বরং তাদের সাথে বলো সম্মানসূচক নরম কথা। অনুকম্পায় তাদের প্রতি বিনয়াবনত থেকো এবং বলো, ’হে আমার প্রতিপালক! তাদের উভয়ের প্রতি দয়া কর; যেভাবে শৈশবে তারা আমাকে প্রতিপালন করেছে’।” (সূরা বানী ইস্রাঈল ২৩-২৪ আয়াত)
১/৩৪১। আবূ বকরাহ নুফাই’ ইবনু হারেস রাদিয়াল্লাহু ’আনহু থেকে বর্ণিত তিনি বলেন, (একদিন) রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম তিনবার বললেন, ’’আমি কি তোমাদেরকে সবচেয়ে বড় (কবীরাহ গোনাহগুলো সম্পর্কে জ্ঞাত করবো না?’’ সবাই বললেন, ’অবশ্যই হে আল্লাহর রাসূল!’ তিনি বললেন, ’’(সেগুলো হচ্ছে) আল্লাহর সাথে শির্ক করা এবং পিতা-মাতার অবাধ্য হওয়া।’’ তিনি হেলান দিয়ে বসেছিলেন, এবার সোজা হয়ে বসে বললেন, ’’শুনে রাখ, মিথ্যা সাক্ষ্য দেওয়া।’’ এ কথাটি তিনি পুনঃ পুনঃ বলতে থাকলেন। এমনকি আমরা বলতে লাগলাম, ’আর যদি তিনি না বলতেন!’ (বুখারী ও মুসলিম) [1]
بَابُ تَحْرِيْمِ الْعُقُوْقِ وَقَطِيْعَةِ الرِّحْمِ - (41)
وَعَن أَبي بَكرَةَ نُفَيعِ بنِ الحَارِثِ رضي الله عنه، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صلى الله عليه وسلم: «ألا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بأَكْبَرِ الكَبَائِرِ؟» ثلاثاً، قُلْنَا: بَلَى، يَا رَسُول الله، قَالَ: «الإشْرَاكُ بالله، وَعُقُوقُ الوَالِدَيْنِ»، وكان مُتَّكِئاً فَجَلَسَ، فَقَالَ: «ألاَ وَقَوْلُ الزُّورِ وَشَهَادَةُ الزُّورِ» فَمَا زَالَ يُكَرِّرُهَا حَتَّى قُلْنَا: لَيْتَهُ سَكَتَ. مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيهِ
(41) Chapter: Prohibition of Disobeying Parents and severance of Relations
Allah, the Exalted, says:
"Would you then, if you were given the authority, do mischief in the land, and sever your ties of kinship? Such are they whom Allah has cursed, so that He has made them deaf and blinded their sight.'' (47:22,23)
"And those who break the Covenant of Allah, after its ratification, and sever that which Allah has commanded to be joined (i.e., they sever the bond of kinship and are not good to their relatives), and work mischief in the land, on them is the curse (i.e., they will be far away from Allah's Mercy), and for them is the unhappy (evil) home (i.e., Hell).'' (13:25)
"And your Rubb has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour. And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: `My Rubb! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was young.''' (17:23,24)

Abu Bakrah Nufai' bin Al-Harith (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Shall I not inform you of the biggest of the major sins?" Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) asked this question thrice. We said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah. (Please inform us.)". He said, "Ascribing partners to Allah, and to be undutiful to your parents". Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sat up from his reclining position and said, "And I warn you against giving forged statement and a false testimony; I warn you against giving forged statement and a false testimony". Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) kept on repeating that warning till we wished he would stop.

Commentary: This Hadith mentions some of the major sins. A major sin is one against which there is a serious warning in the Noble Qur'an and Hadith. When disobedience to parents is mentioned along with Shirk (polytheism), it makes the fact evident that both of these are very serious sins. Similar is the case of telling a lie and false
testimony, which in the incident mentioned in this Hadith made Messenger of Allah (PBUH) to leave his pillow and sit attentively. It indicates that the latter two are serious. May Allah protect all Muslims from all such sins.
